Iona and Andy

Voted Britain’s Favourite Country Music Duo

Member of British Country Music Hall of Fame

Welsh recording artists for Sain Records

S4C Wales television regular appearances.

Iona & Andy Boggie who have travelled the world entertaining audiences with their unique mix of country and folk music have recently relocated from North Wales to  Greenlaw in the Scottish Borders. This is an area they know well having spent lots of time there over the last 30 years both professionally and for leisure , and where they have made countless friends.

Since marrying in 1980 Iona & Andy have had a hugely successful career having sung all over Britain , Ireland , Europe , Canada , New Zealand & North & South America. They are the only British artists to have performed at the three most important venues in Nashville, Tennessee , the home of country music – The Bluebird , Station Inn and The world famous Grand Ole Opry.

They appear regularly on Welsh television and their records are heard daily on Radio Cymru in Wales. In 2011 Iona was inducted into the British Country Music Hall of

Fame for her services to country music in Wales. She was nominated for best female country singer in Britain several times and Iona & Andy also were nominated for favourite duo at the British Country Awards , winning this honour in 1987.

They are both excellent singers and harmonise beautifully together , accompanying themselves on guitar and bass . They also have the services of some of Britain’s finest musicians , including musician of the year Iain Bradshaw – keyboards, Geoff Betsworth and Dave Luke , both multi instrumentalists who can join them when a band is required for a show.   They are just as much at home in concerts in Village Halls and country music clubs as well as in some of Britain’s biggest theatre venues and pride themselves in tailoring their programme to the audience. They believe artists should entertain and this they certainly do.

Whilst continuing to travel with their music they hope to play more concerts in the Borders and make many more friends in this lovely area.
